The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanyang Festival, Double Fifth Festival and Tianzhong Festival, falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It is one of the four traditional Festivals in China, together with the Spring Festival, Qingming Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.

The most popular theory is that the Dragon Boat Festival is a festival commemorating Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet of China's Warring States period.   Due to regional cultural differences, there are differences in content or details of customs, and the most iconic customs are dragon boat racing and eating Zongzi.
